Novels as incredibly popular as Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga series inevitably generate an amazing number of unauthorized guides, companion books, philosophical essay collections, and the like. To avoid the threat of copyright or trademark infringement litigation, unauthorized Twilight Saga-related books publish at least one Disclaimer. Below are the several important Tour the Twilight Saga Disclaimers.
Tour the Twilight Saga Travel Guidebooks are
Unauthorized Travel Guidebooks
Tour the Twilight Saga [hereinafter referred to as TTTS] travel guidebooks are not authorized, approved, endorsed, nor licensed by Stephenie Meyer; Summit Entertainment, LLC; Little, Brown and Company; Hachette Book Group, Inc.; Time Warner Book Group; nor by any other persons, entities, corporations or companies claiming a proprietary interest in the Twilight Saga books, movies, or related merchandise.
TTTS travel guidebooks are not officially associated with the four Twilight Saga novels written and copyrighted by Stephenie Meyer. Nor are TTTS travel guidebooks in any way officially associated with the five Twilight Saga movies produced and trademarked by Summit Entertainment.
The Purpose of
Tour the Twilight Saga Travel Guidebooks
TTTS travel guidebooks are written solely for the purpose of providing an historical review of, and directions for finding, the real-world locations mentioned in Stephenie Meyer’s novels, and the real-world places where movie footage was filmed.
Twilight-Associated Names, Places,
Titles or Terminology
TTTS travel guidebooks do not claim, nor do they intend to imply, ownership of, or proprietary rights to, any of the character or place names, titles or terminology, used or created by Stephenie Meyer within her Twilight Saga novels, or the movies made thereof.
Publication of
Twilight Saga Movie Screenshots
Screenshots (aka screen-caps) are split-second, still photographs captured when playing a movie on a computer. Several of the over one hundred (100) Twilight Saga Site chapters in the four TTTS travel guidebooks include one or more movie screenshots or screenshot segments. The sole purpose of including them is to enhance the experience of Twilight Saga fans [Twilighters] while visiting Twilight Saga Sites. By observing screenshots when visiting, Twilighters are reminded of the location as it was described in the books or seen on screen.
To be an effective reminder of what was seen on screen, however, the screenshots had to be altered (aka enhanced) in a variety of ways so that the film site’s background could more easily be recognized.
All five Twilight Saga films were produced and trademarked by Summit Entertainment. TTTS travel guidebooks do not claim, nor do they intend to imply, ownership of, or proprietary rights to, any portions of the Twilight Saga movies.
The caption of every enhanced screenshot or screenshot segment that appears within TTTS travel guidebooks should officially include the following copyright caveat: “™©Summit Entertainment, LLC.” Inclusion of that information, however, would cause each screenshot’s caption to be two lines long. Because this info is given here (and within each travel guidebook), we have saved room by captioning screenshots only with identification of the movie (or DVD Special Features segment) from which each was captured.
Use of Google or Bing Maps Images
Some TTTS Site chapters—such as the city of Port Angeles, or the Quileute Reservation—contain multiple locations. To help visiting Twilighters find each of them, we created Twilight Saga Maps. We used segments of Google or Bing Maps images; cropped, enhanced, and married them; then added Twilight Saga site indicators. PDFs containing these maps are freely posted on our website, in each book’s TwiTips & Maps directory.
Full-sized maps within PDFs contain appropriate attributions, crediting Google (or Bing/Microsoft) and contributing data providers. Below the thumbnail-sized Twilight Saga map images published in the travel guidebook, only Google or Bing is credited, so as to save space.
TTTS travel guidebooks do not claim, nor intend to imply, ownership of, or proprietary rights to, any of the Google Maps image segments—or Google Street view image segments—used within TTTS travel guidebooks or the supplemental PDFs posted on TourTheTwilightSaga.com.
TTTS travel guidebooks do not claim, nor intend to imply, ownership of, or proprietary rights to, any of the Bing Maps image segments (©Microsoft Corporation) used within TTTS travel guidebooks or the supplemental PDFs posted on TourTheTwilightSaga.com.
Author vs Authors of
Tour the Twilight Saga Travel Guidebooks
The A Novel Holiday (ANH) travel guidebook publishing company concept was solely conceived by Ms. Charly D. Miller, as was the concept of the Tour the Twilight Saga travel guidebook series. During the researching and writing of TTTS travel guidebooks—as well as during TTTS website design—Ms. Miller was so generously assisted by other individuals, that she feels unworthy of claiming sole credit for authoring the texts’ or websites’ content. Thus, plural terms—such as, “authors” … “we” … “our”—are used throughout TTTS travel guidebooks and the website when referring to the writers or creators of same.
For all legal purposes, however, every A Novel Holiday Tour the Twilight Saga travel guidebook was solely written by CD Miller. She, alone, is responsible for all content published within any TTTS travel guidebook paperback, eBook, or PDF; as well as being solely responsible for all content posted on the ANH and TTTS websites.
Ms. Charly D Miller hereby avows and affirms that any and all individuals who participated in or contributed to the researching, writing, or publication of Tour the Twilight Saga travel guidebooks and their associated websites, are indemnified and held harmless from and against: any and all demands, claims, and damages to persons or property, losses and liabilities, including attorney’s fees arising out of or caused by any form of litigation brought against the A Novel Holiday Tour the Twilight Saga travel guidebooks or websites.
